Family Skills Building and Support Services
This is a 12-week service that includes two main components: a parenting psycho-education and support group, as well as in-home/in-office family support. Parents/caregivers will learn new strategies and enhance current skills while receiving support from others. Group topics are determined on the needs of those in the group and based on their children’s age.
Who this service is for:
This service is for parents/caregivers who are feeling overwhelmed and need support dealing with challenging behaviour and understanding the child’s development. Family Skills Building and Support Services are available to those living in the City of Kawartha Lakes and North Durham.
Service Location
The group component is offered at Chimo’s main office in Lindsay. The in-home component is available to families that wish to have someone come into their home to provide support. Alternately, there is individual family support available at Chimo’s main office.
Commitment
Engaging in services requires a commitment from parents/caregivers to consistently attend regularly scheduled appointments for all components of the service.
