School-Based Services
Chimo works collaboratively with local school boards within our service areas to provide mental health supports to young people in schools. Students may participate in group and/or individual counseling and therapy to address their needs and build on their strengths.
Who this service is for:
Chimo works in partnership with the following school boards to provide support to young people and their families: Trillium Lakelands School Board, Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic School Board, Durham District School Board and Durham Catholic District School Board.
Service Location
Supports are typically provided in the school setting; however, may also occur at the main office in Lindsay or in the community, based on need.
Commitment
Schools are required to provided private space in which our staff can meet with young people to provide service. Young people are asked to attend appointments consistently. If this is not possible other supports will be discussed.
Referral Process
Young people are referred by designated school board personnel.
