Day Treatment

Chimo currently operates 6 Day Treatment programs. These programs are classroom-based treatment programs that are run in partnership with local school boards.

Who this service is for:

Chimo’s Day Treatment programs meet the needs of children and youth who require mental health services in conjunction with academic support. Children and youth referred to the program often struggle with social, emotional and behavioral difficulties alongside mental health issues. They may also have identified or suspected learning disabilities and in most cases have exhausted the mainstream supports and services available.

Service Location

Four Day Treatment classrooms are located within the northern part of Durham Region in partnership with Grove School and two classrooms are in the City of Kawartha Lakes and run in partnership with the Trillium Lakelands District School Board.

Commitment

Parent/caregiver involvement is critical to the success of those young people attending the day program; therefore, family engagement is required.
